EMDR is the abbreviation for „Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing“. This therapy method was developed by the clinic psychologist Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s. Since the mid 90s, this method has been successfully applied in the domain of trauma and PTSD therapies, also offering relief in other life crises. In the EMDR Coaching, professional blockades are analysed, removed, and powerfully integrated by a structured „EMDR protocol“.
In the coaching process, the EMDR method includes eye movement and is increasingly combined with tactile (tapping) and auditive stimuli (hearing). EMDR offers the possibility to integrate an onerous event as an experience or habit in your personal life without any emotional breakdown.
Again and again, scientific studies have confirmed the high effectiveness and long-term results of this therapy method. Since 2006, the effectiveness of EMDR in treating post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD) is approved worldwide.
